When you create an email message with Google’s Gmail service, you may want to share an image with your recipient. You can use GIF picture files that are stored on your computer and either display them as an inline image in the message or save them as an attachment that the person will need to click on to save and view. You can also add GIFs from websites by typing or pasting the image’s URL.
Log in to your Gmail account.
Click “Compose” to create a new email message, and then enter the address of your recipient in the “To” field.
Type a subject in the “Subject” field. An example might be, “Check out this GIF image!”
Hover your mouse over the “Attach Files” paperclip icon, and then click the “Insert Photos” camera icon. The “Add an Image” dialog box will appear.
Click the “My Computer” radio button to select it if you want to add a GIF from your computer, and then click “Choose File.” Click the folder on your computer containing the GIF, click the GIF file to select it and then click “Choose.” The GIF file will upload to your Gmail account. Alternatively, click the “Web Address (URL)" radio button if you want to add a GIF from a source on the Internet. Type the URL in the “Image URL” box. Click “OK.” The image will appear inline in your message.
Click the “Attach Files” paperclip icon if you want to add the GIF image as an attached file instead of displaying it as an inline image in your email message. Click the folder on your computer that contains the image you want to attach. Click the GIF file to select it, and then click “Choose.” The GIF uploads as an attachment to your Gmail message.
Write some text in the body of the email message, and then click “Send” to send the email with the GIF image.
