If someone is sending unsolicited or otherwise unwanted messages to your Yahoo Mail account, you can block that user. Yahoo enables you to add any email address to the Blocked Addresses list, effectively preventing the owner of the email address from sending you email. The addresses are blocked as soon as you add them to the list, but you can unblock people by removing their email addresses from the Blocked Addresses list.
Log in to your Yahoo webmail account, click the gear icon and choose "Mail Options" from the menu to open the Options page.
Click "Blocked Addresses" in the navigation pane at the left. The Blocked Addresses list contains all addresses that are prohibited from sending you email.
Type or paste the email address in the "Add An Address" box and click the plus sign to add the address to the Blocked Addresses list and block its owner.
- You can block any email address, such as a Live.com or Gmail.com address, not just Yahoo addresses.
- To unblock someone, select his email address and click the trash can icon.
- A person in your Blocked Addresses list can still contact you if he uses a different email address.
