Palm Desktop is a personal information manager designed to work with Palm hand-held devices. Exporting your data from Palm Desktop to a Mac is a multi-step process since each category of information must be exported separately. The calendar and contact items each export into a single file. Memos and to-do items are a bit more complicated. Exporting all the items in either category will export them as a single large file. Thus, memos and to-do items should be exported individually. The resulting text file can be opened in any text editor or word processing program.

Tips
- To transfer your information from Palm Desktop to Google, Yahoo! or Palm profile, download and install the Palm Data Transfer Assistant (see Resources).
- To transfer your information from Palm Desktop for Windows to Palm Desktop for Mac, follow the export steps for the date book and contacts, then import them on the Palm Desktop for Mac using the "Import" option on the "File" menu. For memos and to-do items, click the "Select All" option in the "Edit" menu, then click the "Export" option.
- Although memos and to-do items are exported as a single file, Palm Desktop for Mac will be able to separate them when you use the "Import" option.
