Smart phones that are supported by Google's Android operating system are often equipped with microSD card slots, with which you can mount microSD cards and augment your device's memory. The process of mounting a storage card in your device can be completed in a single settings menu, but a new card requires reformatting before it is capable of being mounted to your device.
Insert the microSD card into your Android phone's SD slot until you hear it click into place.
Tap the "Settings" icon on the phone's home screen.
Select "SD and Phone Storage" from the menu.
Tap "Reformat" to format the microSD card for mounting.
Tap "Mount" when the reformatting process has completed.
