How to Reset a Wireless HP Printer After Changing a Wireless Network Name & Password

by Stephen Lilley

If you've shared your HP printer over your home wireless network, your HP printer is tied to your network name and network password. If you've recently changed the network name, password or both, you have to reset the printer file on your computer that allows it to be shared. This gets it back onto the network, allowing other computer users to access it once again.

Click "Start."

Click "Control Panel."

Click the "Devices and Printers" icon. You only have to click icons in the Control Panel one time to open them, as opposed to two times like you do everywhere else in Windows.

Right-click your wireless HP printer icon.

Click "Properties." Click the "Sharing" tab and check the "Share This Printer" box. Your wireless HP printer is readded to your wireless network.
