One of the nice things about TracFone is that there are no contracts to sign. You simply purchase the phone you like -- prices vary by model -- and the minutes you want to use. Your minutes must be used within a specified period of time. If you find that you have purchased a new TracFone but still have minutes on an old phone, you have the option of transferring those minutes as long as you do it before they expire.
Call TracFone's customer service line at 1-800-867-7183. Answer all prompts until you reach a customer-service representative.
Explain to the customer service representative that you would like to transfer minutes from one TracFone to another.
Supply the customer-service representative with the serial number of the phone you are transferring the minutes from. The serial number will be located somewhere on the back of your phone. The exact location will vary by phone.
Supply the customer-service representative with the serial number of the TracFone you wish to transfer minutes to. This serial number should also be on the back of the phone. The customer service repredentative will advise you as to when your minutes will be available.
