How to Uninstall Programs on an iMac

by KR Knowlin

You can uninstall programs to free up storage space on your iMac hard drive. The Apple "Trash" tool enables users to remove documents, applications, folders and files from their computers. By default, the Trash icon is located at the bottom of your iMac desktop at the far right of the Dock. You can double-click on the Trash icon to view its contents.

Locate the icon of the program you want to remove.

Double-click and hold the icon to activate the "Drag" tool.

Drag the program icon to the "Trash" icon on your dock.

Release the program icon to drop it into the "Trash."

Right-click the "Trash" icon. Select "Empty Trash" from the command list that appears.
